Songhua River

As the lights come on, the old buildings of Central Street and the riverside night scene take on a special charm; a stroll downtown followed by the ice lanterns at Ice and Snow World is a classic night route.

Each winter natural ice blocks are harvested from the Songhua River, transported to the park, cut, stacked and carved layer by layer into castles and colonnades — the making of the ice buildings.
